We understand that moving to college can be overwhelming. This list is to help you choose the things you will bring on moving day. We want to make your stay at Farmingdale comfortable and relaxing. When you move into your new room, it will have the following: mattress, desk, desk chair, closet, lamp, and dresser. It is important that students pack responsibly to ensure the safety of themselves and their roommate.

Alcohol/ Drug Paraphernalia (Empty alcohol bottles, shot glasses, beer pong tables, pipes, etc.)
Space heaters of any kind

Bed Risers
Nails/ Double-Sided Tape/ Packing Tape/Duct Tape. Cannot be used in the buildings. (Command Strips are acceptable if they’re used properly)
Weapons of any kind (including items for decorative purposes)
Non-University issued furniture (chairs, mattresses, tables, desks, etc.)

Need prior approval to have a UL Certified humidifier (with no additional heating elements) – see RD if you need to have one.
