Custodial

The Custodial Department is responsible for providing the campus with a safe and healthy environment. In this department, we have implemented procedures and guidelines to ensure that all buildings, offices, classrooms, labs, dorms, etc., are cleaned, disinfected, and sanitized daily. These duties include but are not limited to removal of trash, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing of bathrooms, shampooing of carpets, stripping and waxing of floors, daily and detailed floor maintenance, washing of interior windows, etc. All procedures are constructed using the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and are strictly followed.

How Do We Keep Clean During COVID-19?

Cleaning Protocols

                                    Regular cleaning, as prescribed by building occupancies, continues in all buildings.
                                       Priorities have been adjusted to provide cleaning and disinfecting for high-touch
                                       surfaces. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Custodial staff applied, on a monthly schedule,
                                       Goldshield® 75 Surface Antimicrobial Agent. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Custodial
                                       has been applying an EPA-approved disinfectant in conjunction with the Goldshield®
                                       75 application to further disinfect and protect. Custodial has also acquired these
                                       products in the form of wipes, which custodial staff use to wipe down frequently touched
                                       surfaces throughout each building.
