
Building Construction, MEP, and Energy Systems
Earners of the Building Construction, MEP, and Energy Systems microcredential will demonstrate an understanding of building construction materials and methods and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and energy systems. This microcredential will be of interest to those planning a career in architecture or construction management.
Admission requirements for application:
- Matriculation into a Farmingdale State College degree program
- Freshmen: 85% GPA (minimum) and Algebra II or Precalculus with a 70 or higher
- Transfers: 2.5 GPA (minimum) and C or better in College Algebra
- Completion of the Microcredential Application on Etrieve
For Non-matriculated students:
- Completion of the non-matriculated student application
- Completion of the Microcredential Application on Etrieve (Instructions will be emailed after completing the non-matriculated student application)
Requirements to earn the microcredential:
- In order to earn the Building Construction, MEP, and Energy Systems microcredential students complete 3 three-credit courses: CON 161, CON 162, and ARC 263. This microcredential requires a minimum grade of C in each of the courses.
