How to Apply

Steps for applying to a Farmingdale State College program:

Step 1: Complete a Preliminary Study Abroad Application.

  • The Office of International Education and Programs will contact you to set up a 1:1 meeting once this preliminary application is submitted
    • In this meeting your advisor will go over your next steps

*if applying to a Florence University of the Arts Horticulture program, please complete this preliminary application

 

Step 2: Meet with a study abroad advisor.

  • Once you have met with a study abroad advisor you will complete your program specific application and gather any necessary documents indicated on the application checklist
    • When attending this meeting, be sure to bring:
      • Unofficial Transcript
      • Copy of passport (if not yet submitted)
      • $60.00 non-refundable application fee
        Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check or money order made payable to Farmingdale State College

 

Step 3: Meet with your department chair.

  • After meeting with your study abroad advisor you must meet with your department chair to obtain approval for your courses you will be taking abroad
    • When meeting with your department chair, be sure to bring:
      • A course pre-approval form (forms tab)
      • A copy of foreign course descriptions
      • a copy of the Farmingdale equivalent courses description
      • a copy of your check sheet (outline of degree requirements and courses you have taken)
  • Once you have your courses approved, submit your signed pre-approval form to your study abroad advisor who will then arrange course registration with the Registrar

 

Step 4: Submit all application materials by your programs deadline.

  • Application deadlines vary by program; please check the program page to verify application deadlines.

Once registered:

  • If you are a FSC student going on a FSC program, all tuition and fees must be paid before departure to the Student Accounts office
  • If using financial aid please refer to the study abroad financial aid tab
  • If you are another SUNY student going on a FSC program: registration, course pre-approval & tuition payment must be arranged at your home SUNY campus. All program fees must be paid to FSC prior to departure
